Final Outlook

Overall, I consider this internship a success for several reasons. Firstly, as a consulting business aimed at assisting high school athletes in attracting the attention of colleges and universities for collegiate sports opportunities, Code Sports provided a valuable opportunity for me to reconnect with youth and gain insight into their perspectives. This experience was crucial for my personal and professional growth as it required me to adapt to a new thought process and understand how this generation approaches sports. I had to learn what motivated them and how to effectively communicate messages to them.

Moreover, this internship was humbling as it shed light on the disparities in resources among schools. It taught me the importance of tailoring advice to specific situations rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Understanding the unique challenges faced by each school or team is essential in providing meaningful guidance.

Working with a baseball team instead of football, a sport I'm more familiar with, was also a valuable learning experience. I realized that the processes involved in baseball differ significantly from those in football. This realization led me to consider focusing on consulting for football initially and later expanding to include baseball consulting with the help of a specialized consultant.

Despite potentially being seen as overqualified for this role, I am immensely grateful for the hands-on experience this internship provided. It allowed me to delve into the intricacies of the Code Sports process and gain a clearer direction for the company. Ultimately, the goal of Code Sports is to help individuals, and to do so effectively, understanding their situations is crucial. This internship immersed me in their world, offering insights that will undoubtedly benefit the company's future endeavors. CODE Sports (Create, Own, Develop, Enhance) will emerge stronger and more effective as a result of this experience.
